Ropes, chains and ties of any kind symbolize psychological limitations to me…Perceptions people put on themselves. The subjects in my paintings are not usually tied tightly, their binds are resting gently over them, ready to be cast off if the subject doesn’t want them.. The viewer is free to come up with their own ideas of course!
